Doheny's Current Periodicals Have Moved!

Doheny Library's Current Periodicals Reading Room will undergo renovation beginning during the 2006-2007 holiday break. The current periodicals will move to their new, permanent home in the former Humanities Reading Room, also on Doheny's first floor.

Many of the books from the Humanities Reading Room will move to appropriate locations in Doheny's stacks and reference room, the Hoose Philosophy Library, and the Helen Topping Architecture and Fine Arts Library. Less-frequently used books will move to the Grand Avenue Library on the second floor of the Carol Little Building (CAL), 3 blocks east of campus.

Renovation of the former Current Periodicals Reading Room will continue through the beginning of the spring Semester. However, the books and periodicals affected by the move are scheduled to be accessible in their new locations at the start of classes, January 8, 2007.

HOW TO FIND RELOCATED PERIODICALS AND BOOKS:
CURRENT PERIODICALS-All titles available in the former Current Periodicals Reading Room will be available in the new location.

HUMANITIES READING ROOM BOOKS-You can find them in HOMER, the online catalog. The catalog record of any moved book will indicate its new location.

BOOKS MOVED TO THE GRAND AVENUE LIBRARY- Grand Avenue Library provides electronic paging of its holdings through HOMER. Paged materials are delivered to Doheny Library's Information Services desk, typically within 24 hours. The Grand Avenue Library is also open for walk-in access from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment.

HELP: If you have questions about finding books or periodicals that have moved, staff at Doheny's Information Services desk can help. You can also call (213) 740-2924. Also, try reading the Current Periodicals Services Guide.
